AVIX GRID — an OpenSim virtual world
AVIX GRID, also known as Авикс or Авикс грид, is an independent OpenSimulator grid with a Russian-speaking community. Create an avatar, meet people, make a home, build your own spaces and explore virtual islands. The website is available in Russian and English.

An online world for people who enjoy The Sims
If you enjoy creating characters, homes and stories in The Sims, AVIX offers a different kind of creative freedom. You control your own avatar and meet real people as neighbours and friends. It is a social virtual world, not an official online edition of The Sims. There is no required storyline: choose what you want to do.
A Second Life alternative
People familiar with Second Life will recognise the idea of avatars, 3D destinations, conversation, virtual homes and building. AVIX runs on OpenSim with its own accounts and regions. A Second Life account cannot be used to log in to AVIX.

Frequently asked questions
Does AVIX require a VPN?
A VPN is not a required setup step for AVIX. You need internet access, Firestorm for OpenSim and an approved AVIX account. If you are searching for Second Life without a VPN, remember that AVIX is an independent world rather than a way to connect to Second Life servers. Connectivity can also depend on your network and provider.
Is registration free?
Yes. Applying for an avatar account is free. Email verification and administrator approval are required. See the world rules for land-use conditions.
Are AVIX and Space Grid the same grid?
No. Space Grid, also called SpaceGrid, and AVIX GRID are independent worlds. To join AVIX, register a separate avatar and add the AVIX grid to Firestorm. Inventory from another grid is not transferred automatically.
What is OpenSim?
OpenSim is a common abbreviation for OpenSimulator, a platform for 3D virtual worlds. A grid connects regions and residents; AVIX is one such independent grid. Travel between compatible grids uses Hypergrid and depends on the destination’s settings.
Can I play in a browser?
AVIX currently uses the standalone OpenSim edition of Firestorm to enter the world. This website provides registration, a world map, news and setup instructions.
Who is AVIX for?
Adults interested in meeting people, creating avatars, virtual photography, building and exploring. Respect for other residents and their personal boundaries is required.
AVIX GRID is an independent project, not an official edition of Second Life, The Sims or Space Grid.
